A Catholic Alternative To Netflix

Looking around the web for different things and various subjects for "Faith of the Fathers" blogs, I sometimes come across some new (to me), interesting and useful services.

One of those that I came across today is a Catholic alternative to Netflix. It is called Pius Media, who's header says : "Entertainment your Mother approves!"

The home page for Pius Media states:

  • Welcome to your Catholic DVD Rental Membership Club! We are your source for movies depicting the lives of the saints, children’s movies, educational tools for Religious Education teachers, conversion stories from the greatest apologists, Catholic-friendly Hollywood movies, and some great old television series.
  • Christian purity requires a purification of the social climate. It requires of the communications media that their presentations show concern for respect and restraint. Purity of heart brings freedom from widespread eroticism and avoids entertainment inclined to voyeurism and illusion.Catechism of the Catholic Church 2525
Depending on which DVD plan you select when you open an account, the cost is from $8.50 to $24.50 per month.

They also offer a streaming service (some titles are free to stream) Pius Media Now which appears to be affiliated with Amazon's Instant Video service.
